Welcome to the Korean Modern History Trail.
I think it's a nice to walk today.
This is a village called Jeong-dong.
In the next two hours, you will be walking around Jeong-dong and along traces of history. You will see the site of modern Korean history.
Jung Dong-dong was a place where foreign embassies were concentrated 100 years ago. Western culture and education spread throughout Korea through this area.
The headquarters of Western missionaries were here.
The Presbyterian Church of Korea and the Methodist Church of Korea started here.
Modern education began here.
The craze for English education began here.
Here's the start of women's education.
The beginning of Korea's corporate and brand history is also here.
Democracy in Korea started here and grew up here.
Turbulent times.
It also became a backdrop for events that brought about the huge transformation of Korea's democracy.
It hurts as much as I can.
This is the last stage of the Joseon Dynasty, which had to gradually lose its sovereignty amid a struggle among Western powers and Japan.
This is where the hope of the new era and the despair of the powerless nations coexist.
Cold War era
There was also a heated debate between the United States and the Soviet Union over the issue of the Korean Peninsula.
This is where the Korean people expressed their desire for independence and unification through the song.
Most of the roads are mostly flat, but they are somewhat slanted. But young people are not too hard to walk.
Let's look at the map we gave you first.
