"Who gets to say innovation, questions beyond slogans"

Yesterday, a presidential candidate in Korea announced that he was running for office.

During his speech, he mentioned the debut of Seo Taiji in 1992.

He used Seo Taiji as a symbol of starting a new era, which was an interesting choice.

But this makes us ask an important question:
Has this candidate really played the role of a pioneer and innovator like Seo Taiji?
Or has he been more like the judges who criticized Seo Taiji when he first appeared?

A new era doesn’t begin just because someone says a strong slogan.
Anyone can bring up examples of people who changed history,
but actually being someone who creates change is a very different thing.

That doesn’t mean we deny the life this candidate has lived.
As someone who has been part of Korea’s elite, his path deserves respect.

Now, we simply hope he uses the next chapter of his life to serve society and take responsibility as a public leader.
